Cool, dry weather makes the ramparts, bastions and sea wall most pleasant to explore, with clear views over Mopilla Bay. The monsoon brings heavy coastal rain.

Highlights

Triangular Architecture and Laterite Build

The Dutch Bastions

Three massive stone bastions facing strategic directions, built when the Dutch took over in 1663.

The Sea Wall and Harbor Separation

A projecting sea wall extends into the ocean, separating the rough Arabian Sea from the calm Mopilla Bay, keeping the fishing harbor safe.
