Called the “Ooty of Kerala” for its cool misty weather, Kakkayam Dam sits 2,450 feet above sea level, framed by the forested hills of the Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary — a UNESCO World Heritage site. It serves as the reservoir for the Kuttiyadi Hydro Electric Project and offers a wild blend of peaceful valleys, rushing water, and deep forest trails.
